WORKING OF A AIR BAG IN CAR
In cars there are sensors which sense the impact on the body of car during a situation of collision or an accident. There are also 2nd type of sensors which sense the braking or slowing down of speed during collision or an accident situation. When the brake sensors sense that the speed has been reduced very quickly because of sudden braking and collision with other object , these sensors sense this and heat is produced which leads to a chemical reaction forming nitrogen or argon as a byproduct. This gas is used to fill air bags and opens them with a speed of more than 300kmph. Similarly if the impact is too hard the crash sensors sense them and according open airbags.
HOW DOES THE CAR DECIDE TO OPEN WHICH SIDE OF AIR BAGS?
There are 3 type of airbags in car
1. Side airbags
2. front airbags
3. knee air bags
